Our purpose is to provide communitybased services that promote a just society and improve the life circumstances for people who are vulnerable and disadvantaged, especially those who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, or disconnectedness. We aim to strengthen the capacity of our community, enrich the lives of individuals and families, and build the connections in our community of Leeton and the wider Riverina region. We aim to build a community where all those in need are aided overcome adversity whilst retaining their dignity. We did this through; 1. the provision of affordable quality second hand clothing and furniture to our clients, reducing waste and encouraging green practice within our community. 2. Our Social Inclusion Service, which offers a range of services to aid our clients, ranging from: Inclusion services engaging our clients with other people and services to overcome any isolation or disconnectedness. Work Development Orders our clients can work with us on a volunteer basis to pay of their fines Sporting at the Op Shop Working in conjunction with the local High Schools,we offer eligible students the opportunity to come to the Op Shop to volunteer for their sporting hours. Pay it forward program This program is designed to engage clients of the welfare support into volunteering at the Op Shop in manner that suits them and their circumstances. We believe that this helps to create connectives and community engagement, as well creates a sense of ownership for their aid and recovery. Crisis Assistance aiding with emergency food provision, a service that is greatly improving under our new Cannery Tea House; which encourages our clients to sit down and enjoy a meal whilst connecting with staff and volunteers, creating an atmosphere of support and connection. The Tea House is now providing a free breakfast program and a free hot, healthy meal under our pay it forward service. Brokerage providing brokerage to relieve financial stress. 3. Community engagement The Annual Op Shop Ball and more recently the Tough Love (Drug rehabilitation) Seminar We are committed to the innovation of social service, we do not adhere to a one size fits all philosophy and as such our Social Inclusion program and our organisation as a whole is designed to be able to respond to a need in its own unique way. Through this we aim to strengthen the capacity of the community care service infrastructure to deliver quality services, which respond to service users needs, including special needs groups.
