City Mission's vision is to transform lives. For over 170 years City Mission has been providing care and assistance to those suffering hardship in the local community. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, the object of the Association is the relief of poverty or distress including sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune or helplessness. The Mission works actively alongside churches and community groups to bring friendship, care and compassion to those who feel socially isolated. We provided counselling, support, and others services to those in the community needing: Drug and rehabilitation services; Career, training, and life skills advice; Crisis Accommodation; Support for the homeless; Emergency relief and family support; Children and Youth Services; Meals and food; Community Development, and, basic primary health care. In addition, to support the work of the City Mission, while also providing skills development, employment opportunities, we operated a number of social enterprises across north and north west Tasmania. Some of these services also assist the circular economy, and help the environment. To further support the work we undertake various fund raising activities, as well as partner with other organisations.
