Launceston Birth Centre Incorporated

The Launceston Birth Centre is a notforprofit birthing house, run by a consumer committee (of volunteers) working with a team of private midwives. Situated across the road from the Queen Victoria Maternity Unit of the Launceston General Hospital, we offer a spacious, homelike environment for birthing families who are choosing the option to birth with a private midwife. Mothers pay a small fee to rent the facilities for their birth and the committee runs a fundraiser every year to help cover running costs, consumables and the replacement of furniture etc where required.
