LatinOz QLD's mission is to unite and uplift the diverse Latin community by building bridges of support and connection. Our mission is rooted in five strategic pillars that guide our actions and initiatives. We are committed to empowering the Latin American community, fostering inclusion in the broader multicultural landscape of Australia, connecting the diverse Latin American population, amplifying the voices of our community, and promoting the rich and vibrant cultures of Latin America. To achieve this, the organisation provides educational and recreational programs, workshops, and cultural events that promote Latin American heritage and foster a sense of belonging among its members and the broader community. These programs and activities create a safe, inclusive environment where new bonds and friendships are formed, and the diverse cultures of Latin America are celebrated. Core initiatives include Lazos LatinOz, a Spanish language immersion program aimed at supporting language maintenance, strengthening cultural heritage, and deepening cultural understanding; and QWINBIZ (Queensland Women in Business), a program supported by the Queensland Government that equips migrant women from diverse backgrounds with the skills and tools to develop their business projects. Our most recent program, the Guanaco Cybersecurity Program, is a Spanishlanguage cyber awareness initiative created by LatinOz QLD, following the Australian Government s Act Now, Stay Secure campaign. This program empowers Spanishspeaking community members with the knowledge and tools to stay safe online, build digital confidence, and protect themselves and their families in today s increasingly connected world.
