Lane Cove Youth Orchestra Inc

During 2024 we continued to provide our community with a music program for young musicians involving orchestral rehearsals and performances. We held a number of events including an open rehearsal for parents and prospective new members, a residential music camp with special workshops directed by professional music tutors, a formal concert at the Conservatorium collaborating with a string orchestra from a nearby highschool, and a collaborative end of year project funded by NSW Government Local Small Commitments Allocations Program designed to support young musicians by inviting them to join us in a series of rehearsals plus a final concert. Guest players experienced the thrill of playing in a full symphony orchestra! The highlight of our final concert was the premiere of a new work commissioned especially for this project. Our students continued to benefit from learning in a friendly supported environment.
