Kath Dickson Family Centre is a notfor profit, communitybased organisation that focusses on the education and wellbeing of families and children, specifically in the crucial early years of childhood, from 05 years. Kath Dickson operates several distinct divisions: The Kath Dickson Community Toy Library provides access to hired toys for families around the Crowsnest region. Apart from the cost benefits of borrowing rather than buying toys, families can have access to a huge range of ageappropriate toys, puzzles and games. It is also less waste going into landfill from toy packaging and disposal. Kath Dickson Community Playgroups provide both structured activities and free play styled playgroups. Our playgroups offer children an opportunity to explore their environments, develop their skills, and socialise with other children. Playgroups also offer friendship and support for parents, a place where you can share experiences, seek advice and enjoy the company of other parents. Kath Dickson Family Day Care continues to provide the community with affordable, flexible, quality child care in a nurturing, family home environment. Kath Dickson Education and Care Centres (Gladstone Street and Jennings St) in Toowoomba provide long day care for ages 6 weeks to 5 years, and a fully accredited kindergarten programs from 35 years old. Both centres have places allocated to emergency care for families in crisis. The Kath Dickson Institute provides training in nationally accredited qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care via our network of trainers throughout Queensland. The Institute also provides first aid and professional development sessions and networking opportunities for the early childhood sector.
