The Kangaroo Flat Community House (KFCH) continued to run low cost preaccredited courses and classes for disadvantaged, marginalized citizens across Greater Bendigo including Hospitality with Barista training; Learn Horticulture Basics; Digital Essentials Level 1 and Digital Essentials for Employment. Provided support by way of Food Assistance grocery staples, fruit & vegetables to assist our low socioeconomic citizens including seniors, those with disability, single parent families with children, etc promoting and encouraging healthier eating and lifestyle choices. Volunteering opportunities delivering programs and activities such as Community lunches and Community Gardens for home grown produce to supplement our programs, and for participation building skills, confidence and self esteem and life skills foccussing on activities that can be beneficial at home. Offering low cost, no cost activities for people to connect, participate, make new friends, share their skills minimizing isolation and loneliness in our communities including art classes, meditation, Community BBQ lunch, Tai Chi, photography and a gardening group. We provided support and services such as financial advice and assistance through the NILS loan program. Additionally, the Power Saving Bonus, long with the Safe Seats, Safe Kids program offering free car seat checks to ensure all little loved ones are safe while travelling.
