The objects and purposes for which the Company is established are: (a) to assist in the establishment and operation of community associations which promote the cultural, social, economic and religious welfare of Muslims in Australia; (b) to advance and ensure the progress and security in the cultural, social, economic and religious life and welfare of Muslims in Australia, whether resident or not and whether migrant or not, by: (i) promoting the practice and principles of the Islamic religion; (ii) delivering community service based projects that address benevolent needs within the Muslim community; (iii) arranging community celebrations and ceremonies including festivals, meetings and contests; (iv) establishing, managing, publishing and/or producing newspapers, books, journals, periodicals, magazines, leaflets, videos and other media, and establishing and managing bookshops for the sale of the such material; (v) promoting Islamic art, literature and publications; (vi) establishing and managing shops, restaurants, grocery stores, libraries and other facilities; (vii) organising indoor and outdoor athletic games and sports for youth and others; (viii) arranging lectures and conferences and arranging the invitation and attendance of lecturers and guest speakers from Australia and elsewhere, and any other means considered by the Company as conducive to this object; (c) to promote, represent and defend the social, economic, human, legal and religious rights of Muslims through peaceful means; (d) to promote and advance unity, friendship, mutual cooperation, understanding and harmony amongst Muslims and other communities in Australia, and to increase public awareness of issues faced by and amongst communities in Australia; (e) to support, promote and advance multiculturalism and community building, through an embracement of Australian values; (f) to arrange visitation and assistance to Muslims who are in hospitals and to provide counselling and rehabilitation to Muslim inmates at prison, detention and correctional facilities, in liaison with the relevant authorities; (g) to promote, encourage and advance the education of Muslims in Australia, including through the provision of scholarships, bursaries, grants and awards, and assisting in the establishment of educational institutions; (h) to promote and assist Muslims, whether resident or not, whether immigrant or not, in the establishment and running of advisory, conciliation, mediation and welfare groups in Australia; (i) to arrange the performance of religious funeral and burial services; (j) to arrange pilgrimages to Mecca and other religious places or ceremonial occasions, and trips to sites of cultural and historical significance;
