About International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, Australia LTD

ICMEC Australia serves as a crucial resource in the fight against online child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA). We are boldly confronting this issue when most would rather avoid it. Alongside our coalition of partners, we strive to proactively combat and prevent its occurrence. Our mission is clear: to support and strengthen the professionals who detect, report, prosecute, and prevent CSEA. As an independent notforprofit organisation, we collaborate with various stakeholders, such as financial services and corporate entities, law enforcement, policymakers, academics, and NGOs, to develop strategies to protect children from harm. Through commitment to datadriven initiatives, training, capacitybuilding, and research, ICMEC Australia works tirelessly to prevent and combat CSEA crimes, aiming to create a safer world for children and young people. ICMEC Australia s work is firmly grounded in our mission to support and strengthen the professionals and systems working to prevent and combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA). In 2024, we delivered over 60 sectorengagement activities, including major events, highimpact training, policy submissions, and specialist presentations to stakeholders across financial services, law enforcement, academia, and government. Our flagship event, the ICMEC Australia Symposium, brought together leaders from the financial services sector to deepen their understanding of how child sexual exploitation intersects with financial crime, highlighting the role of financial systems in both enabling and disrupting this harm. Alongside initiatives like the Lighthouse data product and the SaferAI for Children Coalition, these efforts reflect our commitment to proactive, crosssector collaboration and to protect children. In 2024, we contributed to nine formal policy consultations, supported key research and awareness campaigns, and were featured in national media outlets focused on the evolving risks of CSEA. We expanded our digital engagement, launched a new website, and received Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status reinforcing our longterm sustainability and public value. Everything we do is aligned to our mission: to be a trusted, independent resource that empowers others to act ensuring a safer world for children, now and into the future.
