Independent Multicultural Media Australia LTD

IMMA s core role is to support the sustainability and development of the Australian independent multicultural media ecology. As part of that aim, as a charity IMMA provided: Free Advice and support to small publishers applying for government grants. Free forums and workshops with key institutions and partners such as Melbourne Pres Club, and RMIT, communities, and government bodies to support established and newly arrived immigrant journalists, emerging and younger culturally diverse journalists and journalism students. IMMA provided onetoone mentoring support for all IMMA members free of charge and advice and support to new, emerging and student journalists. IMMA advocated for the sector across all government and other institutions, including contributions to major policy initiatives such as the Multicultural Framework Review by the Federal Government, Department of Customer Services NSW (DCS) multicultural media review, and other forums.
