About Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council

The ILALC is the peak body for Aboriginal people across the Illawarra and Southern Highlands. Our key role is to improve, protect and foster the best interests of our members and the broader Aboriginal community. The ILALC's obligations are to acquire land, acquire and establish business enterprises, establish and operate community benefit schemes, provide residential housing programs (social, affordable and other). All outcomes are driven by the Community Land and Business Plan which is approved by the members. Projects and programs are developed to ensure there are tangible outcomes that have a direct or indirect impact to the lives of Aboriginal people including cultural, social, wellbeing and economically.
