We provide a variety of advocacy, service and support to assist those with special needs, the frail, aged, those living with disabilities of all ages, youth, newly arrived refugees and the disenfranchised communities across our geographical area. We are a major provider of health, wellbeing, flexible respite day centres, individual support, health & wellness social support groups, multicultural meals delivery service across Newcastle, Hunter, Maitland & Lake Macquarie regions to reduce social isolation and allow people to stay in their own homes longer. We partner with other organisations (including NDIS) and local schools to build skills pathways, work experience, placements, access to services, mentoring programs to provide opportunities for the disabled and disengaged youth. We run a Community Garden, Community Shed, onsite Cafe, Multicultural Meals Program, various forums, briefings and events including the annual Multicultural Fiesta and partner with organisation and stakeholders with similar ethos and values. The HMC is also the Hunter's Peak Multicultural Body and part of Multicultural NSW's Peak Bodies Program. We specialise in working and partnering with existing and emerging Culturally, Linguistically and Religiously Diverse (CALRD) communities to assist in building capacity, providing support and guidance, access to information, developing and delivering programs and being a conduit to Government and other key bodies.
