Throughout the period Human Rights Law Alliance Limited conducted the following activities in furtherance of its objectives: Providing a client triage service for Australians to access for legal help where their human rights have been infringed and where they need legal assistance with potential legal disputes involving religious freedom and freedom of thought, speech and expression; Pro bono legal representation and advice and litigation support for clients who face discrimination on the basis of their religion; Running an annual Legal Academy for law students with a passion for human rights and for the protection of Australians facing legal action for freedom of thought, speech and expression; Provision of legal advice to individuals and organisations in relation to protection of religious freedom to raise funds for pro bona legal assistance to HRLA litigation clients; Advocacy and submissions to Federal, State and Territory committees and bodies in relation to proposed legislation affecting vulnerable Australians in relation to religious freedom; Attending and presenting at conventions, seminars and conferences on religious freedom issues to promote and fundraise for the work of HRLA; Providing training and clerkships to law students in relation to religious freedom matters.
