Historical Novel Society Australasia Incorporated

In the period since registration with the ACNC (27 March 2023) to 30 June 2024, we met our purpose of advancing culture through promoting historical fiction in Australasia by holding the biennial HNSA Conference on 2122 October 2023 and commencing work on our 2025 Conference and History Unbound Festival; in FY 2324 by hosting our Imagining the Past podcasts featuring authors of historical fiction; and in July 2023, by conducting our winter online weekend program of workshops and chat salons on writing, editing and publishing. We also started planning the Elizabeth Jane Corbett Mentorship for Young Adult Historical Fiction for end 2024. We coordinated the annual ARA Historical Novel Prize awarded in November 2023 to Gail Jones for Salonika Burning (Adult) and Amelia Mellor for The Bookseller s Apprentice (Children and Young Adult) and opened entries for the 2024 prize.
