About Harrison Riedel Foundation Limited
At the Harrison Riedel Foundation, our mission is to reduce the time between young people needing help and receiving it. We achieve this through technologydriven prevention initiatives, including the free YourCrew App and the schoolbased YourCrew Classroom program. These programs promote helpseeking behaviours, foster positive relationships, and teach essential skills in wellbeing, resilience, and support strategies. By empowering young people to know what to say, where to go, and how to act, we aim to keep them and their peers safe. Rationale: Mental health issues often go unrecognised, with 50% beginning before age 14 (WHO, 2022) and an average delay of 1011 years between onset and receiving help (Beyond Blue, 2024; Wang et al., 2004). In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental distress (Mission Australia, 2021), and 7 in 10 suffer in silence (Rickwood et al., 2015). Research highlights that strong support networks are protective, improving mental health, increasing helpseeking behaviours, and supporting engagement with mental health programs. At the Harrison Riedel Foundation, we believe mobilising trusted networks and fostering regular communication empowers young people to express their concerns earlier or allows their Crew to recognise issues sooner. By facilitating timely conversations and providing immediate access to help resources, we aim to prevent small challenges from escalating. This approach equips youth with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate difficult times confidently and seek help when it matters most. For more visit: https://www.harrisonriedelfoundation.com/
