Hands on India (HOI) is a notforprofit secular charity. Our mission is to help break the poverty cycle in marginalised rural communities in West Bengal, India, by: funding quality primary school education empower women through selfdevelopment and microeconomic support. Improve health care through creations of 32 Health Centres in remote villages. Fund nursing scholarships for further opportunities within the villages Identify need to create support groups for men to help reduce alcohol & drug abuse in villages. Our organisation is entirely volunteer run. Our focus is on the women and children in remote and rural communities in north eastern India helping them to achieve their true potential. Providing them with a supportive environment in which they can flourish reduces domestic violence, illness and malnutrition due to extreme poverty, child marriage, drug and alcohol abuse. It also helps to eliminate the horrors of child trafficking.
