Great Barrier Reef Legacy's work, particularly through the Forever Reef Project, has been instrumental in advancing our mission to lead global marine conservation efforts. By developing and operating the world's first publicly accessible living coral biobank, we have achieved a significant milestone in coral preservation. Our stateoftheart facilities, such as the John Rumney Holding Facility at the Cairns Aquarium and the upcoming larger facility in Port Douglas, provide optimal conditions to house and care for corals, allowing us to continue expanding our collection. The relocation to Port Douglas has enabled us to grow our capacity for both coral conservation and community engagement. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, we have been able to expand our educational and outreach programs, empowering communities to take action in marine conservation. This move also introduces new revenue streams through coral fragment adoption and educational tours, enhancing our sustainability and ability to continue our vital work. Our focus on First Nations partnerships, education, and outreach ensures that we are not only conserving coral but also creating lasting, positive change for the health of our reefs and the communities that depend on them. The expansion of our operations, coupled with our transition to a company limited by guarantee, strengthens our governance and ensures the longterm success of our conservation goals.
