We performed research into new techniques for building safety, ethics, accountability and transparency into AI systems and worked with companies, universities and government to improve the safe, ethical and responsible use of AI in business and government using the results of this research. We trained leadership staff, technical and nontechnical staff in businesses and government agencies and university students to design, use and oversee AI systems that operate safely, ethically and responsibly. We advised governments and industry to improve the safe, ethical and reponsible operation of current, planned and future AI systems. We provided a computer science technical perspective as input into the development and implementation of government AI policies and initiatives to ensure that AI is developed and used safely, ethically and responsibly.
