Our Community Care program, open to any resident in need, provides assistance with paying utility bills, school costs, paying fines as well as access to free financial counselling and refererral to free or low cost mental health support services. This year we observed a notable rise in individuals seeking assistance for the first time. This increase was reflected in the number of Energy assistance applications processed, a surge in requests for food support and more referrals to our Financial and Mental Health counsellors. Our trial community based After School Care program, at Wyoming Public School has been extended for a further 12 months allowing families access to affordable child care. Youth Holiday workshops provided young teens access to new programs in the area of technology and creative arts. Our close partnership with our local Social Housing provider, Pacific Link, continued to grow with support through social, family support and creative activities for local residents and their families.
