During the reporting period, Goldfields Community Legal Centre (GCLC) continued to deliver on its mission of providing accessible, inclusive, and highquality legal assistance, advocacy, and community education to disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the Goldfields region. Our core aim is to promote fairness, social justice, and improved outcomes for individuals who face barriers in accessing justice. GCLC achieved its objectives through the following key initiatives: Legal Services: We provided free legal advice, casework, and representation in areas such as tenancy, family law, domestic violence, employment, and discrimination. These enabled hundreds of clients to resolve legal issues that significantly impacted their housing, family relationships, safety, and livelihoods. Community Legal Education: We conducted outreach sessions, workshops, and seminars across the Goldfields, including in remote Aboriginal communities. These programs raised legal awareness and empowered individuals with knowledge of their rights and obligations under Australian law. Advocacy and Law Reform: GCLC engaged in systemic advocacy by contributing to law reform submissions and participating in sector networks to raise issues affecting our client base, particularly those involving regional disadvantage, cultural and linguistic diversity, and family violence. Collaboration and Engagement: We strengthened partnerships with local service providers, including health services, schools, Aboriginal organisations, and crisis centres, ensuring holistic and culturally appropriate support for clients. Governance and Inclusion: The GCLC Board continued to improve governance practices and reflect the diversity of the community it serves. Strategic planning was undertaken to guide longterm sustainability and align our operations with community needs. Through these activities, GCLC advanced its mission to deliver justice and legal support where it is most needed, thereby contributing to a more equitable and empowered regional community.
