Girls From Oz Ltd.Registered

Since 2010 Girls from Oz (goz) has been providing life enhancing opportunities to girls and young women in Halls Creek WA. The program expanded to Carnarvon WA in 2013 through 2024, and expanded to Lockhart River QLD in 2015. We piloted the program in Kowanyama, on Cape York QLD, in 2021 and began regular program delivery in 2022. We piloted the program in Bidyadanga WA in August 2022, commencing regular programming in 2023. High quality performing arts activities are delivered by experienced and passionate educators for one week of each school term in each community. We've observed increased selfconfidence and selfesteem; we encourage the girls to dream big and pursue a life that is meaningful to them. The most engaged participants from across the communities spent a week in Sydney in November 2024. This weeklong Travel Program exposes girls to performing, social, educational and vocational experiences that can help empower them to stay in school and see them become outstanding community role models. Additionally, goz assists young girls to access enrolment in the Australian Girls Choir.
