In order to provide valuable career development opportunities for our members, GEEQ has implemented a series of introductory technical workshops focused on emerging professions such as DevOps and Data Engineering. These workshops expand our target communities' chances of securing roles in less traditional IT fields, and also provide them with a wider range of jobhunting options. To further support our target communities in their job search, GEEQ has also organized numerous Speed Hiring events, which were attended by a diverse group of organizations including startup, unicorns, large enterprises, and SMEs. These events featured industry experts from these organizations, who shared their career journeys, current roles, and insights on how they assess candidates. This direct connection between hiring managers and the GEEQ community has helped to reduce the negative impact of gender bias in the hiring process. In 2024 we ran several soft skills events. At Geeq, we recognize the importance of soft skills in relation to career progression. In order to enhance our members' soft skills, we conduct various initiatives including Fireside Chats. These chats are designed to bring thought leaders and industry role models to share their insights and practical tips on a wide range of topics that are critical for career success. By providing access to role models and experts, we aim to empower our community with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their careers.
