GDay Birdie Sanctuary

Our outcomes were much the same as last year, so they are listed again here: We provided medical care, shelter, and sanctuary for various small birds who were lost, unable to survive on their own in the wild, were surrendered by those who could not look after them any more, and/or were no longer fit to be adopted or sold as pets. We educated the public on how to properly care for small birds, what to do in emergencies, and what can be hazardous to their wellbeing. We worked closely with other parties, including other rescues and sanctuaries (some of which have charity and/or NFP status) to transport birds from one place to another. This was typically for ensuring that birds could be cared for by the right people, as not every party in our network can look after every type of bird. We purchased food, treats, toys, and cages for people with birds in poor living conditions, who were unable to provide those materials themselves for their birds.
