Friends of Vietnam Orphanages Inc

We support disadvantaged communities, children with disabilities, and the creation of sustainable incomes for households, as well as provide shelter for vulnerable individuals (such as orphanages) and access to education. Our charity fund is sustained through contributions from family and friends. Since 2011, Peter, our founder, has taken annual leave each year to ride across Vietnam and provide direct assistance to these communities through our small registered charity. He covers his own travel expenses, ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly to aid efforts in Vietnam. Our approach is a barefoot charity model : one ride, one man, one motorbike. Our work relies on local project partners, who are essential to each project s success. These partners are often women, the traditional breadwinners in Vietnam, along with university student groups, nuns and others who volunteer to help their communities. We maintain a handson approach, with projects ranging from providing livestock to help households generate income, to school supplies for children, food parcels to improve nutrition, and encouragement awards for students.
