Free the Bears works to protect, preserve and enrich the lives of bears throughout the world. Since 1995 more than 1,000 globally threatened sun bears, moon bears and sloth bears have been given a second chance at life in worldclass sanctuaries after being rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and exploitive situations. Free the Bears strives to ensure wild populations of bears are given the chance to survive and thrive through pioneering field research, collaborating with government and nongovernmental partners to strengthen and enforce national wildlife laws, and building community support for the protection of wildlife and wild spaces through innovative education and awareness programs.
