Services and activities taken by Fawkner Islamic Welfare Trust (FIWT) to achieve its overall mission and main aims are: The FIWT helps insolvents and people with misfortune, providing financial aid to the needy through the distribution of Zakat, Sadaqah and Qurban and providing interestfree loans of cash or donating household goods. Some Friday nights and every night during Ramadan, FIWT organises free dinners for 100 to 200 people. All are welcome, no questions asked policy, so the participants do not feel diminished. Temporary free food and accommodation for the unemployed, students and travellers. The FIWT provides Islamic Counselling for those in need of spiritual guidance. Dedicated elders and Islamic scholars work with individuals and families from the Muslim community who are facing marital disputes, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, grief and loss, homelessness, and financial hardship. Dedicated groups of community elders assist in relieving human suffering through chaplaincy services for those suffering at home, in the hospital, or prison. Provide a place of worship for daily and special prayers to minimise human suffering through peace of mind and soothing services.
