Farm Transitions Australia has made significant strides this year toward achieving its mission of supporting dairy and livestock farmers in transitioning toward more sustainable futures. One of our key initiatives was conducting a nationwide survey, in collaboration with KG2, to better understand the challenges farmers face and gauge their readiness to transition. This research has provided valuable insights into the specific needs and barriers farmers experience, helping us tailor our support more effectively. Building on these findings, we are developing The Farm Transition Hub, Australia s first comprehensive and free online platform. This Hub, created with input from leading experts, will centralize essential resources, guidance, and support for farmers looking to explore new business models, including plantbased farming and other sustainable options. The Hub is designed to be a practical and accessible tool that empowers farmers to take control of their transition journey. We continue to work closely with farmers like Matt, a dairy farmer in NSW, and Shane, a sheep farmer in SA. Although their transitions have not yet taken place, their experiences have given us valuable insights into the ongoing challenges farmers face and have strengthened our understanding of what is needed to better support them. Through these efforts, Farm Transitions Australia is equipping farmers with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate a resilient path forward, whether transitioning into plantfocused agriculture or pursuing entirely new career paths. We are committed to making the shift toward sustainability both attainable and practical for farmers across the country.
