Evergreen Ensemble Inc is established for the purposes of the advancement of culture and education by finding connections between folk music and art music traditions. This we were able to do through concerts, commissions and recordings as outlined below. We performed concerts on modern and period instruments. Multiple concerts were staged in Melbourne and regional Victoria. We provided performance and workshop opportunities for local musicians; sixteen musicians, one sound engineer, and two videographers were included in this year's concerts. Evergreen Ensemble aims to create events which draw parallels between music, dance, language, art, literature and other related art forms. All of the above mentioned projects fulfilled this goal. We also aim to foster collaboration with interstate and international artists. This year saw the culmination of the project involving the commissioning of a new work from Andrew Ford (NSW) with words by Jill Jones (SA).
