Walking Lightly on the Earth a community of Earth awareness, reconnection and reflection The ErinEarth community acknowledges that we are on Wiradjuri Country and the rich heritage of its First peoples. We honour the dreaming and abiding relationships with the land. We give thanks for the wisdom of Wiradjuri Elders, Custodians and Knowledge Keepers of each generation, including all First peoples who call this area home. ErinEarth is committed to walking beside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in their ongoing cause for justice and fairness in their own land. Our vision: A healed Earth Our organisation: ErinEarth stands as a vibrant hub where knowledge is shared, partnerships are built, and action is facilitated for a healed Earth. We foster courageous leadership, provide education and inspire behaviour that ripples out to create lasting change in lives and communities. In our garden we model sustainability, cultivate deep connections, honour cultural values, and inspire all with radical hope to take bold steps toward a better future. Our purpose ErinEarth is a community and a living educational resource, inspiring all to live more lightly on our planet through awareness, connection, learning and actions. Through education we bring about meaningful and transformative change. Through engagement with ErinEarth, its gardens, community and programs, people have a sense of awe and wonder, yet understand Earth s crisis and are inspired to adopt sustainable living practices. Our call to action We are compelled to be a bridge and take actions from where we are to a hopeful future addressing the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and ecological and social justice issues. We respond to the cry of the Earth by creating a place which promotes: respect for the Earth the interconnectedness of all things responsibility towards all life, universal human rights, ecological justice, and a culture of peace. Our Values are community, respect, sustainability, inspiration ErinEarth s valuesinaction, underpin our beliefs and programs: our commitment to give voice to truth and causes the need for healing the need for sustainability and the regeneration of our biodiversity and ecosystems. Our four interrelated values are visible in our decisionmaking and evaluation, education programs, events, partnerships, communication and attitudes, and in how we care for the Earth and each other. We actively demonstrate what we stand for and are prepared to challenge understandings and behaviour that are contrary to our values. Our halfhectare garden is our classroom showcasing waterwise native gardens and organic fruit and vegetable growing. it offers opportunity for nature connection, reflection, nature play and exploration.
