About Ember Connect LTD
In 2024, Ember Connect achieved significant growth and impact, with membership increasing by 56% to reach 4,898 women, comprising 3,967 First Nations members and 931 allies. This expansion reflects the strength of our digital community and the growing demand for a dedicated space that fosters connections, learning, and mutual support among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their allies. This year, our Game Changer grants attracted more than 700 applications, resulting in 15 members receiving financial support to pursue their personal, professional, and cultural aspirations. We hosted 46 online events that provided members with opportunities to engage with experts, share experiences, and build their capabilities. Our job board proved to be a vital resource, with 601 positions posted and countless members accessing new career pathways. We were pleased to complete the trial of our innovative online mentoring program, which paired committed mentors with emerging First Nations women to facilitate knowledge exchange and confidence building. Feedback from our September 2024 member survey was overwhelmingly positive and inspiring: 70% of respondents reported that Ember Connect has helped or will help build their networks, 70% credited the platform with supporting their career development or expressed confidence in future support, 68% shared that the community has fostered or will foster a deeper cultural connection, and 95% would recommend Ember Connect to their networks, demonstrating the power of what we re building together. Ember Connect remains committed to expanding our impact and reaching new milestones. We will continue to deliver highquality online experiences, strengthen our partnerships and innovate in support of the social capital and economic independence of First Nations women.
