Celebrating Our Impact: 202324 This year, Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. has continued its mission to protect the Whitsunday Islands and the marine life that relies on this precious ecosystem. Our efforts have focused on marine debris removal, turtle rescue and rehabilitation, and fostering a connected community of environmental stewards. Every milestone we ve reached reflects the unwavering commitment of our volunteers, partners, and supporters. Together, we ve made a tangible difference, ensuring our coastline remains clean and our marine life thrives. Here s how we achieved this in 202324: Conducted 33 debris removal trips, collecting over 6,704 kilograms of marine debris from the Whitsunday Islands. Rescued and cared for 13 marine turtles at the Whitsunday Turtle Rescue Centre. Prepared over 14 tonnes of marine debris for recycling and transformation into new products. Grew our community to include 2,400 registered volunteers, with 898 volunteers actively participating this year. Hosted 33 countandsort days and 40 recycling days at Eco HQ, promoting sustainable practices. Engaged schools and communities through Eco Ambassador programs and educational events, inspiring the next generation to care for our environment. Partnered in community cleanup events, raising awareness and fostering local action. These achievements are more than just numbers they embody our collective effort to safeguard the beauty and vitality of the Whitsundays. Together, we are creating a legacy of care, ensuring this region continues to flourish for years to come.
