About Ducere Foundation Ltd
In the reporting period, the Foundation expanded its activities in three new African Countries: Cameroon, Morocco and Cape Verde, delivering its African Children s Stories Program in light of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 8 and 17. This year 5 new collections of African Children s Stories have been published, and more than 25000 copies have been distributed to schools in the three beneficiary countries. With the publication of these collections Ducere has three main objectives First, it encourages literacy through storywriting, enabling students to become published authors. Students write from their imagination, real life and capture stories told by their elders. Second, it helps preserves oral traditions and provides authentic teaching and learning materials. Third, it provides important culturally relevant materials, enabling students to compare stories from various African countries. The ACS program has published 60 collections from 27 African countries, engaging children in story writing and storytelling, giving a voice to children from each nation and an identity that reveals the complexity and cultures across the continent.
