Drug Policy Australia (DPA) is a Health Promotion Charity that advocates for harmreduction policies that reduce the risks associated with drug use and the stigma directed towards people who use psychoactive substances in Australia. DPA uses its platform to highlight the inadequacies of the existing legal framework, which often exacerbate drugrelated harms. Instead, DPA promotes evidencebased approaches to drug policy based on harm reduction principles. DPA demonstrates this commitment through: the facilitation of public forums about drug policy; the dissemination of public health information and drugrelated policy news; the distribution of drug safety testing kits; lobbying the Government through submissions to drugrelated inquiries and campaigning both online and in public for policy reform support. As a health promotion charity, DPA does not focus on services but instead on harm reduction by educating the public about safer practices and distributing drug safety testing kits. DPA is a licensed importer and distributor of fentanyl and nitazene test strips. We provide them to state health departments and other nonprofits that make them available through their needleandsyringe programs. We also import reagent drug detection kits with the ability to detect MDMA, ketamine, cocaine and LSD for dangerous contaminants, which are available to the public through our online shop. DPA actively engages in streetbased campaigning to advocate for drug policy reform. Our campaign program focuses on garnering public support and awareness through direct engagement, ensuring vital health information reaches those who might otherwise miss it. This includes distributing information on naloxone, raising awareness about the growing risks of fentanyl and nitazenes, and advocating for pilltesting programs in Australia.
