To promote research and development and practice of smart grids, renewable energy resources and energy markets through the organizing of international conferences, symposia, workshops, research seminars. Towards that end, we attempted to organize a DRPT International Conference in partnership with Changsha University of Science and Technology in Changsha China, and Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, Zhengzhou, China. Changsha University of Science and Technology did not proceed beyond the expression of interest stage. Zhengzhou University of Light Industry progressed beyond the expression of interest stage, to the extent of submitting an application of endorsement from IEEE (Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) Inc. USA, but unfortunately it was declined, due to inadequate support from IEEE affiliated societies, and chapters. We are currently attempting to organize a 2025 DRPT International Conference in partnership with City University of Hong Kong. We organized three DRPT online research seminars; these were conducted respectively in June, July, and October 2024 to the general public. They were advertised on our website, with registration form for the interested person to fill in and we would send out the Zoom link nearer to the time of the seminar. They were free to attend. There were respectively 82, 95, and 110 registered to participate. THe participants were mainly from China, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Indian subcontinent, Middle East, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Britain, and the Africa continent and they were a mix of graduate students, academics, and practitioners in industries. We plan to run more research seminars in 2025.
