Drama Victoria is a charitable association established to advance and promote education and research in the field of Drama and Theatre in Victoria. In 2024, we continued to advance education by providing Victorian teachers and students with innovative programs, advocacy, and professional support. Key achievements included: Professional Learning and Mentorship: Expanding access to professional development for beginning, experienced, isolated, and rural educators through both facetoface and online workshops, conferences, and mentorship initiatives. First Nations Content and Perspectives: Continuing to support the teaching of First Nations concepts and content in the Drama classroom by curating resources, facilitating workshops, and partnering with cultural leaders. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Strengthening our Diversity and Inclusion portfolio by engaging expert facilitators, developing resources, and embedding inclusive practices across our programs and governance. Curriculum and Policy Advocacy: Working closely with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and the Department of Education to provide expert advice on curriculum development, assessment, and policy initiatives affecting Drama and Theatre education. Innovative Programs: Delivering programs that both strengthen Drama and Theatre as discrete subject areas and highlight Drama s pedagogical potential across the curriculum most notably through the Next Stage program, supported by the Department of Education. Regional and Rural Engagement: Partnering with the Department of Education to extend the Blended Arts Program, ensuring that students and teachers in regional and rural Victoria have access to highquality Drama and Theatre learning opportunities. Research and Partnerships: Collaborating with Deakin University s Centre for Regenerating Futures on research into Dramabased pedagogy and sustainability education, and building intercultural collaborations through the Asia Pacific Coalition of Drama and Theatre Educators alongside Drama Australia, Drama New Zealand, and the Singapore Drama Educators Association. Sector and Industry Connections: Deepening partnerships with cultural organisations and the performing arts industry to broaden student access to creative opportunities and to foster future audiences for Drama and Theatre. Through these initiatives, Drama Victoria has worked to ensure that Drama and Theatre education in Victoria is vibrant, inclusive, researchinformed, and futurefocused
