Divers for Climate LTD

At Divers for Climate, our mission is to amplify the voices of the diving community in oceanclimate conversations, fostering awareness, action, and resilience. Over the past year, we have made significant strides in achieving this mission through impactful media engagement, community events, and strategic collaborations. We played an integral role in coral bleaching media discussions, ensuring that the firsthand experiences of divers witnessing climate impacts underwater were recognised in public discourse. By bringing these stories to the forefront, we strengthened awareness of the urgent need for climate action to protect our marine ecosystems. A key highlight of our work was the production of a powerful 40minute documentary, featuring underwater climate stories from over 20 divers across Australia. This film was screened at multiple events in New South Wales and Queensland, providing an immersive insight into how climate change is affecting our oceans and those who dive in them. Collaboration has been central to our impact. We cohosted two ReefClimate Forums in partnership with the Australian Marine Conservation Society, bringing together over 170 divers to discuss climate action for the Great Barrier Reef and beyond. Recognising the emotional toll of environmental degradation, we also facilitated two Reef Grief Climate Cafés with Psychology for a Safe Climate, creating safe spaces for divers to process their grief and find support within the community.
