Dharriwaa Elders Group Incorporated

Projects of the Group aim to support Aboriginal Elders to resume leadership roles in the Walgett community, keeping active and healthy; promote local Aboriginal cultural knowledge and identity; and develop the Walgett Aboriginal community. We operate an Elders Centre & keeping place and in the 2024 year activities also focussed on Elders support and developing Elders' housing, providing food relief, working for drinking water and food quality and security, responses to emergencies, reducing fine debt, working to further our Action Plan for Children and Young People, working for better management of waters and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, advocacy and on Country activities.
