Derwent Estuary Program Limited

We monitored and reported on the water quality and environmental condition of the Derwent Estuary and shared this information with environmental managers, DEP stakeholders and the public. Our work and the condition of the estuary is summarised in the 2023 State of the Derwent Report Card https://reportcard.derwentestuary.org.au/2023/ In 2024 we commenced four projects funded by the Australian Government's Urban Rivers and Catchments Program including:Stormwater pollution monitoring to improve water quality; conservation actions for the threatened Spotted Handfish; improved data communication; and saltmarsh restoration works.
