About Deafblind West Australians Inc
The Charity facilitates social activities for those who are deafblind to interact with others with a similar lived experience so that they have the opportunity to support each other. The events held include social gatherings monthly at metropolitan based venues and exercise activities (e.g., White Cane Walk). The Charity ensures that those who are deafblind have ready access to relevant education and information concerning matters that directly relate to their specific needs and disability conditions. Support is also provided for advocacy to the NDIA regarding Deafblindness as a unique disability. DBWA Connect dropin Centre continues every 2 weeks and ensures that information concerning medical research, available support services and technology advancements are made available to the DB community. Our Mental Health workshops continue with the support of a grant.
