Our approach involves listening, learning, and mentoring and delivering education, diagnoses, and treatment on heart and skin health tailored to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. When visiting communities, we collaborate closely with local health services, Elders, and schools, guided by local leaders and the End RHD key strategies, which emphasise Aboriginal leadership, communitybased programs, healthy environments, early prevention, and comprehensive care and support. We also offer as much mentoring as possible for those who are interested with the Specialists. We know some communities have done extensive work to end RHD and our role is to complement existing strategies and efforts.
