Darwin Performing Arts Centre

Darwin Entertainment Centre (DEC) is the premier entertainment venue in Darwin. We host events and use our available resources to present new artists to the local community. The Charity also supports local artist and hires by providing inkind support and other community concessions to local community groups, schools and other notforprofit organisations. We also hold Garrmalang Festival, Darwin s only First Nations led and delivered multiarts festival showcasing the best Indigenous Australian artists, offering a forum for the discussion of critical issues as well as a meeting place for all to engage. Garrmalang has a critical place on the national stage putting First Nations arts and culture to the forefront in Darwin, home of the Larrakia people, where First Nations people make up almost 10% of the population. DEC provide free rehearsal room and inkind performance support to our two Artist in Residence companies, SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre and Gary Lang's NT Dance Company.
