Darling Downs Zoo Species Preservation Foundation Limited

The Darling Downs Zoo Species Preservation Foundation was able to import two Golden Lion Tamarins, a critically endangered species, to increase the breeding potential in Australian Zoos. We were also able to secure some Aldabra Tortoises that will be imported in 2025 to increase Australia's breeding potential of this endangered species. The Foundation has also assisted in the care and breeding of many endangered species at the Darling Downs Zoo, both exotic and Australian, including Sri Lankan Leopard, Cotton Top Tamarin, Ringtailed Lemur, Greater Bilbies and Koala. We have also cared for many sick and injured native animals to release back in the wild in Australia.
