During the reporting period Coodjingburra HOME has worked tirelessly with Aboriginal Housing Australia to expand it's core business to now include transitional housing for those requiring urgent housing neeeds. Also continued expansion of our portfolio of properties enabling further provision of culturally safe tenancy management service to more mob in the Bundjalung Nation footprint. We prioritised the placement of people with disabilities as well as homeless individuals and families into our new Aboriginal Housing Office owned properties. Continuously forging new relationships with other agencies with other community services allowing us to provide and facilitate furniture, appliances and other necessities to new tenants, as well as the wrap around services needed to set mob up for success in their new tenancies. Coodjingburra HOME continued working with Aboriginal people impacted by the 2022 Northern Rivers floods. Additionally we work with mob who have been economically displaced due to the housing crisis that sees Tweed rental prices as some of the highest in the State. We have developed a Personal Wellness Index tool which allows for timely and appropriate referrals to agencies. Coodjingburra HOME continues to look to the future and exploit upcoming capacity building opportunities for individuals, families and communities. Our service remains couched in lore responsibilities to community where our foundational values are culturally centred.
