About Community Supporting Police Inc
QPS employees and their families are transferred across the state to support the communities, often located in rural, remote and isolated postings throughout Queensland. Over the years the QPS provided a number of properties (Emergency Welfare Accommodation) for use by Police personnel and their families in times of extreme hardship, medical and/or crisis situations who were required to travel from remote locations to central hubs to receive the required assistance. Community Supporting Police (CSP) manages these Emergency Welfare Accommodation Facilities on behalf of the Queensland Police Service (QPS). These properties are located in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns). For example, a child of a serving member living in Mackay required prolonged and ongoing treatment at the Brisbane Mater Hospital Cancer Ward accommodation was provided by CSP to this family which is located close to the Hospital for the duration of the treatment.
