The CBAA has delivered on its strategy to support strong and successful broadcasters in 2023/24. We have grown our membership to 90% of all permanent licensees, with a 99% retention rate and highly satisfied members, maintaining a Net Promoter Score of 30. We have led the sector through the Australian Government s Community Broadcasting Sustainability Review and our submission seeks an immediate and substantially increased funding allocation for community broadcasters to deliver Roadmap 2033 as well as reform to legislation and regulation. Our focus on our members drives all of our work. Our member engagement is increasingly regular and flexible with a range of new member catchups and a variety of webinars that are well attended. Our contentsharing collaborations are evolving in response to member feedback and new resources and products have been developed to meet areas of need. Through consultation with stations, the ACMA and other stakeholders we have submitted a final draft of the revised Community Radio Broadcasting Codes of Practice (The Codes) for registration. In collaboration with APRA AMCOS, we have rolled out Music Recognition Technology to automate station reporting of Australian music airplay for APRA AMCOS and reduce the manual reporting burden for stations. As technology continues to evolve, along with audiences, we strive to support all stations with affordable, quality services to save time and resources and to make stations more accessible to all communities on all platforms. The Community Radio Network has implemented new program policy and guidelines to streamlining the process of adding new content to meet diverse audience needs. More music is available on amrap.org.au including a greater diversity or artists represented on the platform. More stations are downloading more music than ever before. We have achieved a 45% increase in original stories produced by the National Radio News and the news production collaboration, showcasing the diverse perspectives of our news journalists. Disability Media Australia and the CBAA launched the Powerd Media platform to amplify the voices and stories of the disability community including from our new dedicated journalist in Canberra. We support stations to reach audiences through DAB+ digital radio, online streaming and podcasting, station websites and the Community Radio Plus mobile listening app. The CBAA grew the sector s impact in 2023/24 through generating partnerships for investments in station resilience, delivering more community education campaigns and achieving positive impact for communities related to news services and live music.
