Some highlights of our work in the last year: 8,295 children attending library sessions at Kiamaiko community library 5,879 children attending library sessions at Kiambiu informal settlement community library 709 children attended informal teaching classes with teacher Teresia at Nairobi City County shelters 10 children received teaching assessments from teacher Teresia enabling their smooth placement at schools. 62 informal teaching sessions by teacher Teresia at City County shelters 817 children at City County shelters received IT teaching classes 100 computer classes run at City County shelters 8 mentoring day sessions ran with a total of 680 children in attendance 59 improvements and repairs to Nairobi County Govt shelters for rehabilitation of former street children 6 young adults reintegrated back to families 2 young adults assisted with reintegration from streets through street outreach 14 youth assisted with admission to trade schools through fees facilitation and support 8 children assisted with primary school fees 137 children received first aid assistance facilitated by us 4 economic empowerment projects started 12 new needy talented children are being assisted with high school sponsorship with a total of 124 children graduating assisted by us. 2 new students assisted with college studies with a total of 23 students graduated assisted by us. 9 beneficiaries assisted with access to City County services such as national ID card, birth certificate. 37 children rescued from streets placed at County shelters 85 social work field visits performed (home tracing, assessment, monitoring, reintegration, and school visits) 12 case conference meetings attended run by our partner Nairobi City County 29 times assisted our partner City County staff with computer support 78 people assisted via individual counselling sessions 53 people assisted via group counselling sessions 320 litres of soap made to help our partner City County with hygiene at shelters 19 needy families receiving regular food parcels to compliment empowerment work Drought relief facilitation in northern Kenya (Sololo) in March 2024 and Dec 2023 resulted in two drought food relief famine handouts of 600 KG maize flour on each.
