About Central Queensland Helicopter Rescue Service Ltd
Our mission is to provide our community and stakeholders with Central and North Queensland with a sustainable and supported, worldclass aeromedical and emergency helicopter rescue service 24/7, 365 days a year. Increasing mission statistics and escalating costs serve to highlight the importance of this lifesaving service and the absolutely vital need for community and corporate support to keep the helicopter in the air and saving lives. 2024 was the services busiest year on record with 729 missions completed and flying 1076 hours. The operational expenses of $16million was supported by over $6.5million in fundraising. Two new AW139 aircraft were purchased and commenced operations in August and September 2024 providing a more efficient service to the community. Two crosshired aircraft covered the service from the 1st of July 2024 until the arrival of the new machines due to the previous helicopter provider ceasing operations on the 30th of June 2024. At a cost of $26 million per aircraft the need for funding is greater than ever.
