Castlemaine Legacy Group has the acre of approximately 45 widows of deceased exservice men. The Group expends its funds for the benefit of the widows, including paying for living aids, replacement or repair of essential household equipment, subsidies for winter fuel costs for widows not eligible for DVA benefits and social activities reducing isolation. Twelve active volunteers make routine visits to the widows providing social and practical support.
