CPJP stands for a world without the death penalty (or other forms of statesanctioned killing). CPJP delivers a broad range of advocacy, policy, education and awareness raising initiatives to deliver on its mission. In partnership with local organisations and human rights defenders in our region, CPJP supports the defence of people facing the death penalty, assists local antideath penalty civil society organisations and campaigns to convince governments to abolish the death penalty. CPJP supports the Australian Government's leadership role in the abolitionist movement and the effective implementation of the Government's bipartisan strategy for abolition of the death penalty. CPJP is a partner with Monash University in Eleos Justice, the region's leading academic hub for evidencebased research, policy and clinical casework devoted to restricting and abolishing the death penalty. CPJP runs an overseas volunteer program sending Australian volunteers to assist with capital defence work in retentionist countries.
