Cape York Natural Resource Management (Cape York NRM) is an independent, notforprofit organisation dedicated to the sustainable management of Cape York s natural environment. We work alongside Traditional Owners, landholders, community groups, and other stakeholders to ensure the ongoing health and sustainability of Cape York s unique landscapes. Cape York is predominantly First Nations land, with native title or Aboriginal freehold covering over 60%. A significant part of our work involves collaborating with First Nations people, whose deep culture and ecological knowledge is vital for sustainable land management. Cape York NRM supports and encourages landholders to take ownership of the work needed to manage the land effectively. We are here to support planning, coordination and to provide assistance, but the real work is done by those who live on and care for the land.
